The Connecticut Leadership Empowerment Action Project (ConnLEAP) is a project of the Hartford Area Child Care Collaborative (the Collaborative). The objective of the LEAP project is (a) to inform and educate Early Childhood Education (ECE) professionals regarding the most important issues that affect their profession; (b) to develop their leadership skills and enable them to become resources to their communities; (c) to empower them to speak and advocate for better working conditions and better quality child care for the children and the families they serve; and to work together as a network for change.

Funding for this project has come from the William Caspar Graustein Memorial Fund and Hartford  Making Connections.  Funding pays for college credits, books, meals and child care.  There is a $100 application fee, half of which is refundable upon successful completion of the course and project.
